Bassist and multi-instrumentalist Dré Matsumoto has released his critically acclaimed debut album, Patchouli, a powerfully musical set of Matsumoto originals on vinyl featuring “Hai Dozo,” “Minato Mirai 21,” “Patchouli,” and "Osaka Dotonbori." This album reinforces Matsumoto's jazz legacy with his profile elevating of late through his press tours in Canada and Japan. Look for him to continue his press tour in Europe this October 2025. 

This Patchouli vinyl/lp release includes the bonus track “Conjuring the Ancestors,” only available on vinyl.

Matsumoto is part of a great heritage of jazz bassists, from Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Esperanza Spalding, and Meshell Ndegeocello, to name a few. Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area and Toronto Canada, he now resides in Yokohama Japan.
