KiMi has released her second Ajamu Records single, "Smooth Operator", a stunning cover of Sade's biggest hit. The single features Dré Matsumoto on all instruments and guest vocals. This single is part of KiMi's Paradise Series now available on a signed limited edition CD and digital download.

Patchouli, Dré Matsumoto’s debut album, is an uplifting collection with Matsumoto sounding funkier than ever on all instruments. Patchouli includes the singles “Urban Tower,” “Patchouli,” “Minato Mirai 21,” and “Osaka Dotonbori.” 

Matsumoto’s jazz funk fusion comes through loud and clear on these original compositions. Matsumoto’s head bopping, jazz funk bass playing shows off his admiration for early Ron Carter albums and the jazz fusion artist Christian McBride. And, his deep musicianship and jazz styling show off his admiration for Esperanza Spalding.

This collection only hints at what Dré Matsumoto has to offer in the future. Dré Matsumoto celebrates his love of jazz funk fusion music and Japan on PATCHOULI.
